The Catalyst Men’s Retreat: Kern River
What to Expect
A 3-day whitewater adventure on the Kern River for growth-minded men to renew and reconnect. Unplug in nature, reset your nervous system, and reconnect with your values.
You will come away from this experience with a renewed commitment to your values, and a commitment to be accountable to the group for the actions that will bring your life into alignment with your values.
❋ Intentional StructureWe blend guided moments, open exploration, and space to reflect—so the experience feels both focused and fluid. Participation includes 4 weeks of preparatory work before the retreat to prepare participants for the experience.
❋ Collaborative EnergyConnection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content itself.
❋ Expert FacilitationLed by Matt Nichols, an experienced guide who knows how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.
❋ Support & AccountabilityThis experience prioritizes preparation, safety and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process. Participation includes 6 group sessions after the retreat to support follow through and integration.
Day One: Friday, September 11Arrive & Set Intentions
We depart Los Angeles together (transportation is included) and arrive at our destination in the early afternoon. We take time to settle in, get comfortable, and connect with the group. Together, we consider our goals, hopes, and direction. This is about aligning with ourselves and with the journey ahead. This is a chance to reconnect with what brought you here—your questions, your hopes, your turning points—and consider how they’ve shifted or deepened.

Day Three: Sunday, September 13Commitment & Accountability
We start the day with a sunrise hike and guided breathwork & journaling session. Depending on water conditions, we may do a morning guided kayaking trip on the Kern River or guided outdoor rock climbing introduction. Then we focus on how to live into our core values and make commitments to the group to be accountable to act in alignment with our values. We explore the possibilities beyond this moment, making space for growth, action, and forward momentum. As we end our time together, we honor the experience, the growth, and the connections made along the way.
